Al – Hilal Industrial Company (HIC)

 Introduction 

        It is one of the mixed sector companies under supervision of the Ministry of Industry; it was established in 1962 and started with registered capital of ID 80,000.

The main products were the evaporative air-coolers with capacity of 50 units per day. Other product was arc welding electrodes with capacity of 2 tons per day.

HIC proceeded and continued developing the manufacturing works and facilities for better qualities and varieties of products which is covering the requirements of all Iraq.

Through the years up to 2002, the company’s capital was increased to be ID 1,500,000,000.

 It is well mentioned, there are other properties belong to HIC. It is Arabian Company for home appliances (electrical clothes washers).

This company has advanced machinery from Japan origin and considered one of the deep rooted companies in this field of industry.

The company is willing to receive all the investable projects within its field designed for, or other fields that achievable, in order to consolidate the industrial status.

The Properties Of The company

1  Evaporative Air Coolers Factory

                            This factory is considered to be one of the very developed factories regarding the Middle East standards. It was developed and became automatic completely and covers more than half the production in the country, in a capacity reached annually to 250 000 units.

It's well mentioned, that in some countries like USA and Australia, it was depended using of plastics and fiber glass as a raw material instead of using galvanized iron. This step is very important for our company and we hope establishing a common cooperation with companies that have a good experience in this field. Besides, the air coolers factory contains a system of large painting by applying the process of electro-dipping and the company is searching for development of the same system or with another system like electro-coating and electro-static.

Further, the company is well prepared to cooperate with the foreign companies for development.

2.Welding Wires Factory

 This factory contains production lines with high productivity. Each line consists of drawing, coating and filling machines in addition to the central mixers. This factory was installed and operated by the help of (ESAB) Swedish company, that we wish if we re-cooperated with and achieved a good investment that insure an economical benefits for each of us.

3. Air conditioning Equipments Factory

This factory produces different sizes of cooling towers vary from (10 to 1ooo tons) as well as air washers that vary from (20 000 m³/hr – 80 000 m^3/hr), in addition to the other air conditioning equipments. So, we announce our preparation to cooperate with the companies concerned with.

5.    Bottles Covers Factory

                                   This Factory was founded in 1985. There are six production lines with high productivity depending on sheet forming and P.V.C. injection and coating. Another production line was added to complete the productive process and to supply the consumer with his preferable trade mark.

6.    Air conditioners and Splits Factory

It was planned, that this factory would produce Air-conditioners (window type) and splits, especially; we have a previous experience in this field, the company is well prepared to cooperate with the foreign companies to develop this production and develop the process of sheet forming and to be accomplished inside the company as well as the other processes. The company has a previous experience, since 1977 with air conditioners manufacturing, whereas that a privilege from Springer company (Brazilian) and Admiral Company (American).

The Company has gained good reputation through this product. HIC is cooperated with Coolright Company (Lebanon) by producing air-conditioners (split and window types). 

Finally, the Company is well prepared to cooperate with foreign companies for development of this product.

7.   Sinks and Home Plates Factory

This factory was founded in 1977, it specialized to produce sinks and home wares made of stainless steel. The company is well prepared to cooperate with foreign companies to develop the factory and to replace the old style in production with modern technical methods.

8. The Factory of  Prefab Houses Assembling

It is one of the factories recently founded as a result of the urgent need for this project.

HIC has made all of its efforts to improve this new project by inventing new methods of assembling that give the product more strength and more aestheticism. HIC is also looking forward a good and trustable supplier of a production line of sandwich panel as an investment business.

9. Generators

From other side, HIC has worked hard to exploit and invest any new project could be profitable and useful.

So, the other new project is electrical generators which has adopted by the famous origins.

Now, HIC is prepared to supply the complete set of generators with multi-power (2.5 – 2500) kva. With after sale services.

The other departments of HIC

 Planning and studies department

              This dept. is concerned with the

studying of the status of HICs’ factories

and it is usually editing monthly reports

to the board of the director and other specialized corporations in the Ministry of Industry, according to the reports editing by the manager of the factory involved.

Consequently,   this dept. has an active role to watch the level of the factories performance.

 Innovation & specific test controlling department

This dept. is one of the most important joints of HIC that worked hard to keep the reputation of the company excellent by applying the best international tests used for the sake of reaching with products to the highest results that can serve the consumers.

This dept. is still working hard to develop what can be developed to serve the local and territorial markets.

Stores and stock controlling department

The importance of this  dept. lurks in

regulation of the stored raw materials

 and the movement of   them to keep

the level of the availability stable.

 The trading affairs department

This dept. is administrating all the trading affairs belong to HIC like biddings and the essential commercial correspondences, so it was very active role for this dept. to support HIC with all developments required.

  The marketing department

This dept. is concerned with marketing and spreading the products of HIC, as well as submitting the plans including discounts according to the quantities required to be a competitive party in the markets at all.

 The engineering projects department

This dept. contains    many   branches

 like: Engineering designs,

electrical & mechanical maintenance,

vehicles repairing workshop, welding & industrial services, transporting dept. which controls the outgoing & incoming vehicles, the workshop of manufacturing of industrial materials & dies used in HIC machinery.

This dept. is considered the most important one that cannot be given up absolutely which proved its activities in many fields and contracts signed with the company.

 The industrial relationships department

The importance of this dept. is starting from the information office role by the controlling the incoming and outgoing products as well as the employee and finish by check points which keep HIC great and safe.

The prospective aims of HIC

  HIC’s prospective aims can be summarized:

1.    Recreation of the stopped factories by updating the product lines or exploiting the machines found, in other roles.

2.    It's necessary to invest the old location of HIC in Baghdad, in a good investment that harmonize with its area, especially; it is vacant now. This action will take part in the distribution of the employee on more than one location which will resolve one of the most important problems that faces HIC. This is will be identical to the Bottles Covers Factory.

3.   Giving trade agencies for HIC products in all the governorates in Iraq as well as Kurdistan region and whom concerned with. The company will offer all the facilities required to those who want to register these agencies.

              Opening of the external cooperation horizons and achieving of fruitful relationships with the foreign companies and expanding of  the cooperation with them and exchanging of the experiences to see the latest technologies. All of these will be active by pushing engineers and technicians in the industrial festivals which serve the progressive directions of HIC.
